Born in the picturesque Bulgarian town of Veliko Turnovo, Boyan Marinov grew up in a loving family of architects. Growing up he loved to explore new things such as rock climbing, painting and woodworking. After serving in the Army, Boyan attended the prestigious Bulgarian Film School for three years where he studied to become a cinematographer. In 1999 he took an opportunity to explore life abroad and he moved to the States to pursue his passion in woodworking. Boyan comes from a long line of woodworkers in his family. He currently resides in Chicago where he creates sculptures and runs his own custom furniture woodworking shop.
